Maine Public Lots in Baxter Land Swap

The controversial Baxter land swap deal that netted the State of Maine an additional 4,000 +- acres to Baxter State Park and 2,000 +- to Maine public lands, also saw Maine relinquish 7,400 +- acres of pre-existing public lands. No one has ever really discussed what those lands were and where they are located.

I have put together a series of maps and attempted to make navigating between maps as easy as possible. I must point out that I put these together with very limited information. Some maps are pretty general and will only show you the townships where these lands are located. Other maps, where indicated on the Delorme maps, show Maine Public Reserved Lands within the township of where the sold land existed. I can only assume some or all of the land mentioned is inside the designated MPRL areas.
