DOWNLOAD AN APPLICATION FOR A VERMONT MOOSE HUNTING PERMIT

http://www.vtfishandwildlife.com/hunttrap_lottery.cfm

WATERBURY, VT -- Vermont moose hunting permit applications are available

from the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department's website (www.vtfishandwildlife.com).

A person may apply once. The non-refundable application fee is $10.00 for

residents and $25.00 for nonresidents. Only persons who have not held a moose

permit in the last three years are eligible.

Completed applications must be received at the department's Waterbury office

either by mail postmarked no later than May 1, 2005 or hand-delivered by 4:30

 p.m. that day.

Ten percent of the permits will go to nonresidents -- the rest to residents. A

hunting license is not required to apply but is required in order to secure the

permit. Moose permit fees are $100 for residents and $300 for nonresidents.

"Vermont's moose hunt is held in accordance with the Vermont Moose

Management Plan, which is based on scientific data gathered since 1980 and

public input," said Fish & Wildlife Commissioner Wayne Laroche. "The plan

serves as a working contract enabling the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department

to protect, conserve and manage moose for the people of Vermont."
