Seeks Recent Bobcat Sightings
Have you recently seen a bobcat in Vermont?
The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is interested in hearing about
recent sightings of bobcats, particularly those in Northwestern Vermont
in the towns of Bolton, Richmond, Huntington, Hinesburg, Charlotte,
Monkton, Jericho, and Starksboro.
A study is being conducted by Vermont Fish & Wildlife biologists and
colleagues at the Vermont Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit
that will provide information on bobcat home range size, habitat use and
movements. The study involves capturing bobcats and outfitting them with
light-weight GPS collars, which record the location of the animal daily.
If you have spotted a bobcat recently, please notify Kim Royar at
802-885-8831 within four days of the sighting.
