PUBLIC HEARING SET FOR PROPOSED MOOSE LOTTERY APPLICATION CHANGES

CONCORD, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department has
proposed slight changes in the regulations for the moose lottery application
process and will hold a public hearing on November 1, 2005, at 10 a.m.
at N.H. Fish and Game headquarters on Hazen Drive in Concord to discuss
the proposal.

The proposed amendments clarify some of the information required by
Fish and Game for the moose lottery process and on the application, with
particular reference to the driver's license number or non-driver's
identification number and how to report any changes of that number to Fish
and Game so that the Department can maintain accurate records of bonus
points in the lottery process.

New Hampshire's moose hunt permits are given out through a lottery.
Bonus points are important because they can improve a hunter's chance of
winning in the lottery. Under the bonus point system in place since
2004, applicants have their name entered into the lottery one time for each
consecutive year they apply. Once they are drawn, they lose all bonus
points and cannot apply again for three years.

The complete rulemaking notice form, with original and proposed rule
language, may be found at
http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Legislative/Notices_summary.htm.
