PUBLIC HEARING SET FOR FALCONRY, CAMEL RULE CHANGES

CONCORD, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold a
public hearing to discuss proposed rule changes regarding falconry and
camels on August 5 at 10 a.m. at N.H. Fish and Game headquarters on
Hazen Drive in Concord.

Fish and Game is proposing to adopt rules relative to falconry
including permit requirements, application and renewal procedures, permit
classes, housing requirements, and marking, acquisition and disposition of
raptors. These rules were previously effective on an interim basis.

The proposal also includes changes to the import and possession rules
for camels, to remove them from controlled status and list them as
"non-controlled," similar to the way in which llamas and alpacas are
treated.

Written comments must be received by August 15, 2005. Send to:
comments@wildlife.state.nh.us (subject line should say "Rules"); or
mail to Executive Director, N.H. Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive,
Concord, NH 03301; or fax to (603) 271-1438.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department is the guardian of the
state's fish, wildlife and marine resources and their habitats. Visit
