HUNTERS NOTE: STATE PROPERTIES CLOSED IN SOUTHWEST NH

CONCORD, N.H. -- Following heavy rainfall and severe flooding in the
southwest part of the state, the New Hampshire Department of Resources
and Economic Development (DRED) has closed several state parks, state
forests, and state trail areas to protect the safety of visitors. The
properties will remain closed until the weather is stable and when
assessments show no safety issues to the public.

Hunters -- especially moose hunters, who will be in the field the
weekend of October 15 -- should make note of the closures and plan their
hunts accordingly.

Below is a list of the closed state properties, listed alphabetically
by property name.

  Annett State Forest, Rindge
  Ashuelot Rail Trail
  Casalis State Forest, Peterborough
  Cheshire Rail Trail
  Chesterfield Gorge Natural Area, Chesterfield
  Fall Mountain State Forest, Langdon
  Fort Hill Rail Trail
  Gile State Forest, Springfield
  Hubbard Hill State Forest, Charlestown
  Low State Forest, Hillsborough
  Pillsbury State Park, Washington
  Pisgah State Park, Winchester/Hinsdale/Chesterfield
  Russell-Abbott State Forest, Wilton/Mason
  Sugar River Rail Trail
