MARINE FISHERIES HEARING APRIL 5

DURHAM, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold a
public hearing on proposed changes to winter flounder and lobster
regulations, as well as a proposed herring fishery weekend closure, on
Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. at the Urban Forestry Center in
Portsmouth.

Recent Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's Fishery Management
Plans modifications call for changes to winter flounder creel limits,
area closures and lobster minimum sizes in Lobster Management Areas 2,
3, and outer Cape Cod.

The public will also be able to comment on a proposed Saturday-Sunday
closure of the herring fishery in Area 1a.

For more information, contact the New Hampshire Fish and Game
Department's Marine Fisheries Division at (603) 868-1095.
