CONTINUANCE IN HUNTING LICENSE-REVOCATION HEARING

CONCORD, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fish and Game Commission has issued
a continuance in the license-revocation hearing of Steven R. Laro,
which began at 10:00 on April 13, 2005. The hearing will resume on April
21, 2005, at 8:00 a.m., at New Hampshire Fish and Game Department
headquarters in Concord.

The hearing is being held before the New Hampshire Fish and Game
Commission and Executive Director in accordance with Title XVIII, RSA 214:18.
This statute states, "The executive director may order the suspension
of the license of any person in his discretion, and without hearing, and
may order the license delivered to him or his representative whenever
he has reason to believe that the holder thereof is physically or
mentally an improper or incompetent person to carry firearms, or is handling
firearms improperly, or so as to endanger human life or property, or
for any other cause that he may deem sufficient; but such suspension
shall not be for a longer period than 30 days unless the executive director
and the commission, after investigation and hearing, so determine. The
executive director may order any license to be revoked after due
hearing for any cause that he may deem sufficient."

N.H. Fish and Game is conducting the hearing based on Laro's
involvement in a fatal hunting-related incident in January 2004 in which he shot
and killed his hunting companion, Robert H. Proulx. In December of
2004, a jury acquitted Laro of negligent homicide and of felonious use of a
firearm.

During today's hearing, sworn testimony was given before the Fish and
Game Commission and Fish and Game Executive Director Lee Perry relative
to the fatal incident, hunter safety, and Mr. Laro's competency to
carry firearms.

Following the conclusion of the hearing and a period of deliberation of
unknown length, Director Perry and the members of the Fish and Game
Commission will render a decision, which will be announced when available.

No further information is available at this time.
